About this event

Somewhere in a small Northern town a woman walks into her constituency office and asks for help.

Meanwhile, in Westminster a woman prepares to stand up and address the House …

Maiden Speeches is inspired by the challenges facing outspoken women everywhere.

A new play about being bold, speaking out and not giving up.

Co-created by Hannah Davies and Barbara Marten (People, Places & Things National Theatre, West End, St. Ann's Warehouse) and directed by Eleanor Rhode (Boudica Globe Theatre).

There will be a post-show discussion and debate by DebateMate following the reading.

Presented by Tara Finney Productions in association with York Theatre Royal and Common Ground Theatre.

Tuesday 20 March 2018
