About this event

Dynamic and talented theatre makers perform new work in front of an audience, often for the very first time.

Engine Room puts you at the heart of the creative process - these artists want to hear what you think.

Be part of the conversation.

Artists in this month's Engine Room include …

N*gger presented by Nicole Acquah

N*gger is a one woman show exploring the relationship between identity, power and language.

The show uses poetic storytelling to track the journey of the N word, from the Portuguese/Spanish origin, to its use today.

N*gger is part scripted, part improvised and part English, part Portuguese, placing a history of conflict and reclamation side by side.

Performed by Nicole Acquah, writer of For a Black Girl.

How much power does our language have over us?

Come join the (bilingual) conversation!
