A man and a woman sit down to breakfast.
Breakfast is theatre inspired by the poetry of Jacques Prévert, driven by movement and live music.
Once an underground poet of surrealist and non-conformist ideals, Prévert wrote of essential human intimacy.
He is known for his arrest of love against a wider world of cynicism and corruption.
Breakfast is based on the poems Alicante and Déjeuner du Matin, and explores their shifts from sheer happiness to heart-sinking loss through a couple in and out of love.
It has joyous moments of heart-warming comedy and gentler moments of sadness.
Devised, choreographed and performed by Marah Stafford and Nicholas Hart, with live music by accordionist and folk singer Ben Murray.
