Synopsis

Fast Love follows Rory, a 23 year old cis-male gay/queer bartender, whose struggles with mental health are just bubbling up to the surface.

He tells us about the small moments that changed him, his sexuality, and his identity in the wake of life changing and extremely isolating moments.

Join him at his confessional (minus the priest,) self analysing (minus the psychiatrist,) house party (minus the guests.)

The play specifically surrounds mental health within the LGBTQ+ community, as Rory navigates London attempting to connect with his community through sex, Grindr and 'pockets of intense human contact that act like anaesthetic.'

It is full of sordid sex stories, painful confessions and multiple pleas for help.

It is a story with twists and turns, and despite finding yourself rooting for Rory - he is ultimately cripplingly alone onstage.

We all know a Rory.

Fast Love is the first play to be performed at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre by Associate Artist Jack Albert Cook and directed by Monty Leigh.
