A surreal tragicomedy about the difficulty of connection and the meaning of love.
"John & Beatrice" is a prime example of a dark and surreal comedy which transcends time and place.
The style of the piece is a hint at the avant-garde, a departure from Stanislavskian Realism, verging on the absurd a-la Beckett, with a touch of Brechtian commentary.
The characters, John and Beatrice, are both larger than life versions of themselves, and the play itself does not shy away from the extremes of both side-splitting comedy and gut-wrenching drama.
