Lilac Wine is a contemporary Persian fable set in the aftermath of the Green Uprising in Tehran, 2010.
It fuses vaudeville, spoken word, drag, lip synch, and boylesque to explore the implications of witnessing a revolution by mistake.
A Fairytale of Modern Iran.
When you observe atrocity, it's hard to make the memories fit together.
What did you actually see?
What are you meant to do with it?
What are you meant to do with the life you left behind?
When the atrocity is in Iran, and when the life you left behind involved staging drag shows, some of the questions can be difficult to answer.
