Background

The event is being held as a fundraiser to facilitate the next instalment of Maiden Speech, a festival launched in 2017 that successfully staged nine new plays by female-identifying artists to critical acclaim.

"I am constantly inspired by how new writing is challenging and changing the theatrical landscape," says Producer Lexi Clare.

"Prelude and Maiden Speech are initiatives that champion the voices of emerging artists and provide support for new work that offers up fresh perspectives."

Situated above the Arts Theatre, Above The Arts Cabaret Club is a gorgeous new intimate venue in the heart of the West End.

Lexi Clare Productions is a fresh new production company with a focus on providing platforms for emerging artists and feminist work.
