When love and money collide ...
The daughter of a widowed, wealthy surgeon, Catherine Sloper lacks both social graces and beauty.
She falls head over heels in love with the handsome, but penniless Morris Townsend, the first man to ever pay her any attention.
She believes her love is reciprocated, but her father Dr Sloper is convinced that the young man is interested in one thing only - Catherine's fortune.
He believes nobody will ever love Catherine.
And so he threatens to disinherit her if she marries Townsend.
Adapted Henry James' classic novel 'Washington Square', The Heiress is a story of intrigue and forbidden love.
