Synopsis

An unnamed Woman lies on her deathbed, reflecting on the highs and lows of her life, her eight children and her unfaithful husband.

Holding off Death - for now - is the Scarecrow, accompanying her on this contemplation of an unfulfilled life and offering comfort and recrimination in equal measure.

Marina Carr's lament on life, love and what could have been, full of bitter humour and brutal honesty, premiered at the Royal Court in 2006.
