About the festival

Young Harts Writing Festival is an inter-borough new writing festival, which merges the gap between emerging young artists and professional artists.

Through an online competition, six plays written by emerging young writers (10 to 25 year olds) are chosen.

They receive a £100 commission and a free writing master class with INUA ELLAMS, and another month to complete their plays.

Each young writer will be partnered with a professional writer as a mentor.

All plays directed by Daniel Bailey and Ann Akin.

Submissions open 5 January to 16 February 2018.

Plays will be performed at Lyric Hammersmith on 7 to 7 April 2018.
