The Voiceless is a visual and musical experience that lives somewhere in the space between physical theatre, circus and dance.

It aims to take audiences on a journey with unique characters and an exhilarating musical score in a brand new tale.

It will be accompanied by a newly-composed score and explore the intimacy and complexity of human relationships in a fantastical world.

Skin Deep is a theatre of ideas.

They aim to tell gripping and relevant stories with boundless imagination, courage and style, and believe in rule-breaking, courageous story-telling and having entirely too much fun!

The Voiceless is a devised piece but it is not the company's first time making work like this.

In June 2016, Skin Deep created an entirely new play with just one rule - there would be no speech.

They explored the limitations and possibilities of speechless theatre to discover how complex a story and relationships they could portray entirely without words.

Using music for inspiration, the ensemble cast developed a highly physical and moving story of parenthood, friendship and the cost of staying alive against all odds.

The company is also committed to exploring elements of British Sign Language within the show with the help of a BSL consultant, with the hope of creating a piece that is equally accessible and enjoyable to both a deaf and hearing audience.
