Going to the theatre is a great experience - but not always for everyone ...
Audiences with various forms of hearing loss or people who miss a word here and there can find themslves lost with what is happening on stage.
But captioning can change all of that and transform theatrical and cultural experiences.
This week - 14 to 19 November 2016 - is Captioning Awareness Week.
The aim is to help reach the 11 million people in the UK who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing - that’s 1 in 6 of us.
You can support captioning and the awareness week by ‘putting your name in the frame’ - as we've done here at ActDrop - for captioned access to the arts on social media and beyond, to help raise the profile of captioning and live subtitling amongst cultural venues and culture lovers.
Just head over to the StageText website and download one the 'frames', add your name and then take a selfie and post to Twitter or Facebook.
Simple!
So, go ahead and get your name in the frame and help support this really important initiative.
