About ActDrop

ActDrop is a completely free-to-use website that aims to provide accurate and timely information about various aspects of London theatre including show information, details about theatres, links to buy tickets, theatre news and so on.

When you visit our site, there is no requirement to register, sign-up or sign-in or provide any personal information such as your name, email address or telephone number.

And we do not have any automatic way (for example through computer code) in which we can collect information (like an email address) about a named individual.

However, there are ways in which we do collect your personal data, but you will always know when you are submitting your data to us.

These are:

1. when you complete one of our on-line forms, for example to contact us, or to send us details about a show

2. when you buy tickets through the ActDrop branded ticketing system at this address:

More details about these are given below.

Like many websites, we also use cookies on our site to provide a better experience when you are browsing our site.

More information about cookies is given below as well as a link to our cookie policy.

However, our cookies do not store personal information such as your name and email address.

We use cookies only to check which pages you have visited, for example, or choices you have made on menus or when making searches, for example by storing the dates or show genre you may have entered.

We provide a number of forms on our site to enable our site visitors, PR Agents, theatres, producers, production companies and others to get in touch with us to provide information about London theatre shows, theatres, theatre festivals, theatre-related events and other information that we publish in the various sections on our site.

When you contact us using one of our forms, we ask you to provide your name, email address and telephone number which we use only as a means to contact you in case we need to check information which you have supplied to us.

We keep the information you have sent to us only for as long as we need it to keep in touch with you.

For example, if you complete a show listing form, we will only keep any personal information about you for the duration of the show's run and will then delete it.

We will, however, keep details of the show itself for archive purposes.

Information, including any accompanying personal data, which we obtain through our online forms is never shared with or sold or made available to any third party under any circumstances.

Theatre tickets

In our show listing pages and through links on graphic banners displayed throughout our site, you will find links to buy theatre tickets.

When you click on these links you will be taken to either

1. ActDrop's branded ticket site (which is provided by Encore Tickets Limited), or

2. to the ticketing system provided by the relevant theatre.

In the first case above, any purchase of theatre tickets you make will be handled by Encore Tickets Limited and you can read their detailed privacy policy here which includes how we fit into it as an e-commerce partner with Encore.

In the second case above, you will be directed to the theatre's own ticketing system, for which we are not responsible, and you should check the theatre's privacy policy with regard to buying tickets from them and to find out what personal information they will store about you.

Press, PR, theatre and other contact information

During the course of our business, we are contacted by various industry individuals, press contacts, agents and others working in the field, and we will be in touch with them regularly using the contact information they have freely provided to us.

Normally we hold email, telephone, website address and sometimes office postal addresses for our contacts.

Because we keep in touch with these people regularly, we need to keep their personal details on an ongoing basis.

If you wish us to amend of delete any contact information we hold about you, see the section below about how to contact us.

Like many websites we use cookies on our site to make your browsing experience easier and more convenient.

Social media cookies and tracking

We provide links on our site to our social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.

If you click on these links on our site, you will be taken to the appropriate website which may use cookies or other software to track how you use that site.

We are not responsible for those sites or have any control over any data they might collect about you, nor the way in which they may track your use of them.

You should check the appropriate privacy policies for any external sites you visit, including links we provide to other external sites.

We use Google Analytics to help us keep track of how our website is used so we can improve it over time and provide the best possible experience to all our users.

Google Analytics allows us to see how many visitors have been to our site, which pages are most popular, where our visitors have come from and so on.

The information collected does not allow us to identify any named individual and does not provide us with any of your personal information such as your email address, telephone number etc.

You can find out more about Google Analytics here.

Our website servers also collect statistics about visitors to our site such as total number of visits, pages visited as well as the visitors location.

We use industry standard software to collect this information.

We do not identify any named individuals using this data nor have access to any personal information about visitors.

Information about individuals in our listings

In our news items, link listings, show and theatre listings we display the names of individuals who, for example, are taking part in shows.

We obtain this data in a number of ways either through publicly available information on theatre websites or through contacts made with press representatives and PR agents, theatres or production companies.

In general, we only identify cast members, authors and creatives taking part in shows using their names and the roles they are performing in the production.

We don't generally hold any other information (for example email addresses or telephone numbers) about these people unless a show participant has sent us information using one of our forms (as described above).

However, even when we have information such as an email address or telephone number, we never publicly display that information in the listing on our site.

It is customary practice for listings' sites to include names of people taking part in shows, and most actors and creative personnel are happy to be identified with the productions they are involved in.

However, it you are taking part in a show and do not wish your name to be publicly displayed in our listings information, you can contact us (as detailed below) to request removal.

How long we keep information

At ActDrop we only keep personal information for as long as it may be needed to keep in touch with you.

If you are working in the theatre industry, for example as a press agent, or producer, we will generally continue to retain your contact information while we still exchange information.

When you send in one of our forms, we will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary to clarify any current information – for example, if you send us show information through our online listing form, we will only keep your personal contact information until the show ends its run.

If you buy tickets through our branded ticketing site provided by Encore Tickets Limited, you should check their privacy policy which describes how long they will keep your personal information for.

Updates to our privacy policy

We are committed to ensuring that we comply with any current laws and so we will review and update our privacy policy at regular intervals in the future.

At the top of this notice, we will post the date on which our privacy policy was last updated.
