Big news today from the producers of SIX, THE MUSICAL ...

First, with many sold out performances and limited availability in the first

booking period, the show is extending its run at the Arts Theatre until January 5, 2020.

The extension is possibly no surprise given that the musical - written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss - is already up for six Whatsonstage Awards: Best Musical, Best Off West End Production, Best Original Cast Recording, Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design and Best Costume Design.

The show is also short-listed for three Off West End Awards - Best New Musical, Best Choreography and Best Costume Design.

And if all that weren't enough, the show's Studio Album has been awarded Album of the Year - Best UK Cast Recording.

The winners were revealed live on The Curtain Up Show on Resonance FM by presenters Tim McArthur and Nathan Matthews, who said ...

"We both love SIX and are delighted that it's bagged Best UK Cast Recording!

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss have written one of the most exciting new British musicals in a very long time, so what better way to celebrate the show's return to the West End than by awarding it Album of the Year?!

SIX showcases some of the best female singers and musicians in the country - long may it reign!"

In its run at the Arts Theatre, SIX, THE MUSICAL features the return of the full, original West End cast who were named the Best Ensemble in a Play or Musical at the 2018 BroadwayWorld Awards.

Here's the show's trailer ...

The producers also announced today that SIX is to get its first US production at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre from May 14 to June 30, 2019.
