The Space to host live shows next month
London theatre news: Friday 11 September 2020
London Fringe - Shows
Live performances return to the Isle of Dogs in October as The Space announces performances of shows postponed during the epidemic.
Live performance is returning this October to The Space as four productions, originally scheduled to perform in the Spring/Summer, will perform under social distancing at the Isle of Dogs venue.
The first production will be Thiasos theatre company's Ploutos by Aristophanes.
This will be followed by the Space's associate company, Mrs C's Collective's That Was All by Francis Grin, all-female company Sixteen Sixty's dark comedy In Bad Taste and cabaret collective I Need to Cher's How to Survive the Cherpocalypse.
As with other venues that are trying to get back to some kind of theatrical normality, The Space will have a reduced capacity and all tickets need to be booked in advance.
Artistic Director, Adam Hemming said ...
"We're delighted to be hosting live performances at the Space again and thrilled to be starting with these fantastic shows.
We're working hard to make sure the venue is COVID-safe and exploring ways to livestream the shows.
These theatre companies have stayed positive and helped us to build our online audience through our Locked Down, Looking Up programme, they deserve all the support they can get and I hope audiences will come down to the Space or watch from home."
The Space has also recently launched a crowdfunder, as part of the Theatres Trust's #SaveOurTheatres campaign - you can donate here.
