Monday - 29 June - SPOTLIGHT ON: HIJINX THEATRE

Ben Pettitt-Wade

Hijinx casts learning disabled actors in award-winning productions which tour the world.

They have a network of 70+ trained actors around Wales who have learning and developmental disabilities including Down's Syndrome, Autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

Their Artistic Director, Ben, has been working with artists with learning disabilities and/or autism for 20 years, 13 years with Hijinx and formerly with Spare Tyre Theatre Company in London.

Ben will be chatting about the Hijinx approach to making theatre, his devising process and how the current situation has affected the company's work.

Tuesday - 30 June - BEHIND THE SCENES

Macadie Amoroso

Macadie is an actor, writer, theatre-maker, and graduate of East 15's Acting & Contemporary Theatre course.

She debuted her spoken-word solo-show, Blue Beneath My Skin, at the Bunker Theatre last August.

Macadie will be discussing her journey into the arts and her experiences as an actor and a writer in the industry.

She'll also be talking about the creative and development process behind Blue Beneath My Skin and the trajectory it's taken since its first production.

Wednesday - 1 July - APPROACHING A SCRIPT FROM A SOUND PERSPECTIVE

Tingying Dong

Ting is a sound designer, composer and technician.

One of Ting's first professional designs was for our production of Jerker which earned her an Offie nomination.

Her recent credits include: Bin Juice, Kraken and The First (VAULT Festival) and Blood Orange (Old Red Lion Theatre).

Ting will be taking us through her process of interpreting a script/project and some methods she uses to enrich the sound design and therefore also, to enrich the entire piece.

Thursday - 2 July - INTIMACY COORDINATION

Ita O'Brien & David Thackeray

Ita is the UK's leading Intimacy Coordinator and founder of Intimacy on Set, a company that provides services to TV, film and theatre when dealing with intimacy, sexual content, and nudity.

Pioneering the role of the Intimacy Coordinator, she has worked on numerous high profile productions including: Normal People (BBC 3/Hulu); Sex Education 1&2 (Netflix) and I May Destroy You (BBC & HBO).

David is an Actor/Director and Intimacy Coordinator. Since 2015, he has been working in collaboration with Ita to develop Intimacy on Set and promote best practise within the industry.

David has worked for international broadcasters, including: Netflix; Channel 4 and HBO. They will be breaking down their process, sharing how Intimacy Coordination benefits the entire creative team and advising on training routes into the field.

Friday - 3 July - SPOTLIGHT ON: SWINGS & ROUNDABOUTS

Katie Berglöf, Will Irven & Imy Wyatt Corner

Swings & Roundabouts is a collective for emerging theatre makers to connect, share skills and support each other.

At the beginning of Lockdown, they moved online and launched PLAYgrounded: a virtual community for theatre makers during the COVID-19 crisis.

They host workshops and courses over Zoom, as well as connecting isolated peers for 1:1 emotional and creative support.

In this session, they'll be covering their pre and post COVID work and what lies ahead for them beyond the pandemic!
