Playing as part of Vault Festival 2018, Wind Bit Bitter, Bit Bit Bit Her is a story of love, loss, grief, paranoia and deep state conspiracy - a twisted monologue through a disturbed, lonely mind.

We're in Dymchurch, on the South coast of England, some time in the 2020s.

Mary and Charley have just lost their child - and the couple start to drift apart.

As they do, Mary discovers a body part washed up on shore.

And then another one.

And another.

And as she starts to collect these body parts, a conspiracy builds.

Maybe it's all a weird coincidence.

Or maybe Mary's child isn't quite so dead after all ...

WIND BIT BITTER, BIT BIT BIT HER was shortlisted for Soho Theatre's Tony Craze Award, as well as being longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award and Bruntwood Prize.

The play will be published on January 25 2018 by Nick Hern Books in Plays From Vault 3.

About the playwright

Sami Ibrahim is a young writer from London.

His show IRON DOME FOG DOME was performed at The Yard during the latest FIRST DRAFTS' season.

Last year, he worked at the Almeida Theatre as a member of their Creative Board, developing and producing FROM THE GROUND UP - a piece of immersive theatre which went up to Edinburgh last Summer.

At the same time, he wrote and directed FORCE OF TRUMP, a satire about Donald Trump becoming president.

The show had runs at several theatres across London - including the Brockley Jack, where his short play, CARNIVORE, was also performed as part of the WRITE NOW 7 Festival.

He has taken part in The North Wall's Summer Residency Programme and is currently a member of Soho Theatre's Writers' Alumni Group.

Phoebe Vigor has recently finished playing Kattrin in MOTHER COURAGE at The Southwark Playhouse and before that standby to Jane in JANE EYRE (The National Theatre, UK Tour).

Additional theatrical credits include: Swing in FORCE OF TRUMP (Jack Studio Theatre); Scientist in FRAGMENT (The North Wall); Princess Katherine in HENRY V (SLT); Sarah in ENVELOPED IN VELVET (The King's Arms); Helena in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Shakespeare and Company); Joker in THEY'LL BE HOME BY CHRISTMAS (Triangle Theatre); Viola in TWELFTH NIGHT (BOVTS); Titus Andronicus in TITUS ANDRONICUS (RADA Youth); CARMEN (ENO); Billy in THE PIED PIPER (BAC); Girl in THIS BE THE VERSE (BAC). Film & Television include: Juliet in POST COITAL; Lust in Richard E Grant's SEVEN DEADLY SINS; Brittany in THE TARGET; Stephanie Franks in BREATHE.

About the company

cough // drop is a new, London-based theatre company founded by writer Sami Ibrahim.

The company likes raucous storytelling, farce and drama mashed together - making you laugh and cry all at once.

They create multicoloured, riotous, manic theatre.

Maybe it's theatre that soothes your throat or maybe it's theatre that puts an uncomfortable tickle in your throat.

Before knocking you out.

In the lead-up to the US election, the company toured FORCE OF TRUMP across London, gaining rave reviews for a nightmare satire that predicted the impossible: Donald Trump becoming President.
