BoxLit Theatre will present Romeo & Juliet at The Rose Playhouse Theatre from 25 to 28 October 2018.

Combining cinematic film from award winning Alisdair Livingstone (Director of Photography - BBC Blue Planet: Plastic Special) with bold theatricality, evocative music and a dynamic glowing set, two performers play out Shakespeare's most famous tale as you've never seen it before!

BoxLit Theatre re-imagines classical texts using a synthesis of film projection, live theatre and inventive storytelling.

They take well known texts and adapt them in a way that is fresh and surprising, making them relevant to a young, modern audience.

With a pop-up glowing white box containing a large projection screen and LED lighting, their theatre is self-lit, portable and dynamic.

Here's the trailer for the show ...

In a strange, uncertain place beyond the end of the story, two star-crossed lovers try desperately to reach each other, seeking answers for their short-lived life.

Together, they explore their brief time together, and discover that memory is much kinder than reality.
