Off West End Award nominated Space Productions will present a contemporary adaptation of LITTLE WOMEN, set in London, celebrating 150 years since the novel's original publication.

Off West End Award nominated Space Productions will present a contemporary adaptation of Little Women, set in London and celebrating 150 years since the Louisa May Alcott's novel was first published in 1868.

Little Women will be at The Space from 27 November to 15 December, with its press night on 29 November.

The play is directed by Sepy Baghaei and adapted by Rachael Claye (The Lighthouse, 2016) and is a female led, inventive, joyful re-imagining of a modern classic.

About the company

Space Productions is the home grown, professional theatre company re-invigorating modern classics for a new audience, working collaboratively to create courageous and captivating work and actively seeking to find, nurture and showcase emerging talent.

About The Space

The Space is a performing arts centre based in a converted church on the Isle of Dogs, East London and managed by St Paul's Arts Trust, and is fast becoming one of the most exciting fringe venues in London "continually providing a launch pad for new talent" (Spy in the stalls, 2018) programming "incredibly ambitious and interesting new work" (Theatre Box Blog, 2018).

Its patron is Sir Ian McKellen.

The Space programmes over 200 performances a year incorporating an exciting mixture of classics, revivals and new writing from new, emerging and established artists.

Its community theatre project, SpaceWorks, provides workshops and performance opportunities for local adults.

In 2015 The Space was asked to manage the Roof Garden performance space in Crossrail Place, Canary Wharf.

This intimate covered amphitheatre in beautiful surroundings is programmed from May to August providing free performances and workshops to the local community.
