New Public are a company comprised of graduates of RADA's experimental Theatre Lab MA course, with members from Austria, Estonia and the UK, and including a circus performer and acrobat, a TV comedian and a pop singer.

Their show 'Lucid', which brilliantly explored the world of dreams, headlined last year's RADA Festival after enjoying sell-out runs at the Tristan Bates Theatre and at Sugisfest in Estonia.

You can read our 5 star review of the Tristan Bates outing of Lucid here.

Now the company are taking their new show - White Noise - to Vault Festival.

A newly devised piece, White Noise sees the company apply their dynamic style to contemporary issues by way of Aeschylus' Oresteian Trilogy.

Public opinion becomes a battleground, power will shift, events will spiral and no-one will leave the arena unchanged.

White Noise combines projection with New Public's bold and contemporary physical performance style to weave a visceral, grotesque and darkly comic vision of media excess.

Inspired by recent news events, White Noise asks what happens when scandal erupts from the most unexpected of places, while holding a fun house mirror up to the manipulative personalities that dominate public life.

The show began in Estonia when the company were invited to a week-long physical theatre course with DV8's Lloyd Newson.

There, the company met Christopher Adams, also an MA Lab graduate and they explored innovative ways to perform public figures on stage.

Co-artistic director Dean Elliott said ...

"Working with Lloyd was a transformative experience, using real-life personalities as our source material allowed us to confront the big issues of our generation in a fun, exciting and visual way, leading to the creation of this show."

White Noise only gets a relatively short run at Vault Festival, so you'd be well-advised to grab tickets fast if you want to see this new work from a hugely talented company.

Synopsis

New Public ("Soon to be leading figures within our industry" Broadway World) presents White Noise, a visceral new satire combining physical theatre and projection to weave a grotesque and darkly comic vision of media excess.

Showcasing New Public's bold and dynamic brand of physical Theatre, White Noise holds a fun house mirror up to the manipulative personalities that dominate public life, and journeys into the relentless media machine that has commodified reality, polarised politics and sacrificed truth at the altar of sensation.
