Bread & Roses Playwrights' Circle
Saturday 25 June 2016
Authors, playwrights & plays - Free events - London Fringe
A playwrighting circle where writers can share their work. Run by The Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham, it's FREE and takes place on the last Monday of every month, next meeting on 27 June 2016.
The Bread & Roses Theatre Company has been developing and supporting new writers since 2012; and since the launch of the theatre in November 2014 the venue has also established itself as a popular place for quality new writing, amongst both playwrights as well as audiences.
The recently launched in-house Playwrights' Circle is an opportunity to share up to 10 minutes of a new play - this can be a short play in its entirety or an extract from a longer piece.
The focus is on the circle sharing their work and providing supportive and constructive feedback for one another.
It is also an opportunity to introduce your work to the Bread & Roses Theatre's team who are on the look-out for new short plays for future instalments of their scratch night The Platform.
The theatre's team also welcome those wanting to put forward proposals for their programming to bring along excerpts of their plays.
The evening runs from 7-30pm to about 9-30pm, including a break.
Doors open from 7-15pm at which point you can also register for a guaranteed slot later in the night.
If you want your play or excerpt to be read on the night, remember to take along several copies (depending on how many characters there are).
Directors, actors, producers and other creatives interested in discovering new plays and the theatre are also more than welcome to come along!
