Mr Potsunen's Peculiar Slice of Life
London theatre news: Monday 3 July 2017
London Fringe - Multi-art
More tickets just released for this show at the Print Room - Japanese comedian, playwright and performing artist Kentaro Kobayashi presents his unusual slice of life between 5 and 8 July 2017.
Returning to London by popular demand, Mr Potsunen's Peculiar Slice of Life is a stage show by the award-winning performing artist from Tokyo, Kentaro Kobayashi, who portrays the mysterious 'Mr Potsunen'.
In case your Japanese is a bit rusty, 'potsunen' means being terribly lonely.
Mr Potsunen lives a hauntingly lonely life and is obsessed with totally unimportant things and works really hard at things that are seemingly trivial.
For him, everything he does is just a part of his everyday life, but for the audience, it may be funny, beautifully sad and perhaps a bit peculiar.
Featuring his original animations and manga-style drawings as a part of the scenic design, Mr Kobayashi invites the audience to his picturesque world where one-man show, art and magic are carefully merged together to form an act of humour and grace.
Being a writer, manga artist and performer, Kentaro realised the entire show by himself and his extremely imaginative and magical piece of work captivated the London audience in 2015.
