Greg Hicks returns to Arcola Theatre in a new production from director Philip Prowse.
A distinguished German writer arrives in Venice, seeking escape from the public eye.
He finds distraction in a young boy, convincing himself that his interest is purely artistic.
But as the city yields to a sinister disease, his growing obsession threatens to submerge him.
This unflinching, solo adaptation of Nobel Prize-winning author Thomas Mann's novella reunites actor Greg Hicks with director Philip Prowse.
Greg Hicks' previous work at Arcola: Richard III (2017); The Kreutzer Sonata (2016); Clarion (2015); Small Craft Warnings; An Enemy of the People. Greg is Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Philip Prowse was Co-Director of the Glasgow Citizens' Theatre from 1970 to 2003. He has directed opera and designed for the ballet both at home and abroad.
