About the festival

New Nordics is a week-long festival in London in March 2020 showcasing the best new Nordic plays from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

The organisers are working with emerging theatre-makers from the UK and abroad to explore what Nordic theatre and culture is and how it can enrich theatre in the UK.

The festival will consist of a play from each of the Nordic countries, each led by a creative team of emerging directors, designers and actors chosen for the festival.

All the plays will receive a staged UK premiere with one performance as part of the six-day festival.

At the end of the festival, Cut the Cord will host a day of talks and workshops around the plays, Nordic theatre, and making Nordic work more accessible in the UK.

The schedule includes:

Day 1 - 18 March - Refuge

Day 2 - 19 March - The Woman Who Turned Into A Tree + Searching For Being

Day 3 - 20 March - Garage

Day 4 - 21 March - No Planet B + Counting To Zero
