About the The Broadway Theatre
Located in Catford, it was previously called Lewisham Theatre. Built in 1932, the Broadway Theatre is a magnificent Grade II listed building, with an art deco interior that remains beautifully preserved. It houses two auditoria, the grand 800 seat main house and an intimate studio Theatre seating 90. The main Theatre plays an important role as a diversely programmed community venue, featuring everything from pantomime and star-name shows through to dancing displays and school productions.
The Broadway Bar entrance has a disabled platform lift to the stalls area. No steps. There are 10 steps to the stalls from the street. There are 36 steps up to the dress circle. Staircases have handrails. There are 18 steps from street level down to the Studio Theatre. The theatre opens 30 minutes before the performance.
