An intimate studio theatre, it can seat up to 80 audience and was part crowd funded.
The space is very versatile and can be used from theatre, to dance, comedy and film nights and everything in-between.
The venue also hosts a wide range of classes, from all kinds of dance, yoga, hoopla and more.
It is also available for private hire events, from rehearsals to classes and other various events, and only costs £12 an hour.
Matthews Yard is an arts, cultural and community hub in the centre of Croydon with a fully licensed cafe, a workspace for early stage start-ups, a gallery showcasing the work of local artists and a studio theatre offering an intimate space with a varied schedule encompassing theatre, film, comedy, live music and community events.
Wheelchair users and those who find the gradient from Matthews Yard to Surrey street too steep can go via Exchange Square and Scarbrook Road, which have smoother surfaces and less steep inclines.
